Rita A. Holder, JD, LL.M. (Tax)
A Passion For What Is Right.
I attended UC Berkeley and Golden Gate University Law. I passed the bar in 1983 (first try!). Later I went back to law school to get a post-doctorate degree in tax law, called an LL.M., in order to better serve my clients.
I will personally handle your case, with help from my dedicated staff. My goal is to be a trusted servant to all of my clients.

I will meet with you throughout your case and personally appear with you at all your court hearings. I will oversee the drafting of your documents and court filings.

I promise to give honest and thoughtful answers to all your questions, so please ask.

I limit my practice to:
  • Wills, Trusts and Probate
  • Family Law
My mom always wanted me to go to law school.  But like many people, my career path has evolved over time. Straight out of law school, at 25, I worked for a law firm doing estate planning and family law.

In my mid-30's I was hired as an executive compliance officer at a global human resources consulting firm. I specialized in ERISA trust administration, tax compliance and retirement plan law.

After the firm went public in 2008, I returned to private practice in Walnut Creek.

I am a long-time resident of Contra Costa County. My husband, retired Deputy Police Chief Richard Holder, SFPD, and I live in Concord, where we've raised our four children.  We also enjoy spending time with our four grandchildren.
